Music

Having missed 2 challenges last week; a Merry Monday Christmas & Mrs A's Butterfly one, I wanted to get Digitally Sweets one in before it closed today.

digi kit used 'Graceful Dancer' by DaisyTrail
lyrics "Its Alright" Pet Shop Boys
100% digital

The background is pink with musical notes on, I placed another paper (black) on top and then used the transparency tool to merge the two, allowing the musical notes to appear, this had the added bonus of making the colour change to the one I used. I knew I wanted to get movement from the dancer but after trying every tool there was and not liking the effects, I used the other image and rotated each so it would appear that she was pirouetting into her last position, again I used the transparency tool to give each little dancer slightly more substance than the one before.

Its Alright is another firm favourite of mine, and I knew from the start of the challenge I wanted to use this verse with whatever I did.

life

Last week  saw dad get admitted to hospital again, after passing out and having severe pain and breathing difficulties, again it was put down to anemia - given two pints of blood this time along with an iron infusion. All his tests had to be repeated - still no show of internal bleeding. So after a couple of days observation, it was finally concluded that it was his medication from having two stents in,  last February, Trig something or other. Dad only had to take it for a year, which meant that this prescription would have been his last. Anyway, the Consultant apologized for not coming to this conclusion in November last year when he was first admitted with this problem.
We, as a family didn't need this apology - dad has always received the best treatment and care from the NHS hospital we use. Yes, they said (the first time) the medication could be playing a part in the anemia but they needed to do other tests to see if there was any other problem internally.
As it turns out, there wasn't - which is a huge relief.

Reindeer

I spent all one afternoon, tidying my craft desk and shelves trying to find the sleigh die & rubber stamp which matched this reindeer one..... looked everywhere, find some other stuff I forgot I had.... didn't find the die.
Started on this design and went in Christmas stamp box to get a sentiment and found the sleigh die/stamp...well who'd a-thunk it, I actually put something away in the right place.

Wintery weather scenes

Beating the expected Snow storms with this card, designed to be for a friends birthday later this month until Andrew succinctly said 'it looks like you made a Christmas card then cheated and stuck Happy Birthday on it instead'
so now its aimed at December birthdays... and I need to make another birthday with no snow or Christmas vibe *lol*

Noel (with a Scandinavian style)

This is my take on a CAS in a Scandinavian style. Dearie me, this card took ages to do and when it was first finished I badly itched. no, ached to bling it up. So I compromised with the small beaded star over the 'e'.
(Still feeling the urge, so its now cellophaned up and put away in my Christmas card box - out of sight is out of mind *lol*)

Noel is a wooden stamp, bought in a sale but hardly used.
Strip of paper came from a free paper pack in a magazine.
Red & White bakers twine DoCrafts
Ruby promarker used to edge the topper and around the card edges.

Z is for Zero and/or Zucchini

Zucchini??? Sounds like it should be a vegetable? Sure there's something similar...

Its actually hues of yellow through to green, which meant I had an ink pad exactly for this challenge, I bought it for another colour challenge, can't remember now, but once I got it home I realised it wasn't what I had wanted to use.

Very simple to do, I stamped the ink pad round the sides of the card, used another piece of card cut to size and stamped the Butterfly on it. Waited for the card to dry and then stuck the butterfly down. Finished off by adding the gems and sentiment.

the Butterfly stamp is a prize from a previous Butterfly challenge -  for doing both the letter and the colour.

To fit the challenge I have used the yellow to green stamp pad and the zero is in 2017.

I accidently smudged an edge of the white card as I was putting it on the card, so I softly smudged the rest of the edges to match.

Angels

My first Christmas card make of 2017 done for Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #229.

Actually enjoyed doing it which surprised me as I ended up buying a couple of Christmas cards in the run up to Christmas week as I had lost my 'ho. ho. ho' and didn't finish my list of cards to make.

I used silicone gel to raise the Angel of the card.
