self portrait

aged 10 & 3/4's.......

I always had a book to hand as a child, fortunately a hobby I continue today, Secret Seven, Mallory Towers, Famous Five, Nancy Drew then the Hardy Boys evolving into James Herriott, Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie as a teenager, then morphing into, now,  Freya North, Sophie Hannah, Dorothy Koomson, Trisha Ashley, Alexander McCall Smith, Tess Gerritson to name a but a few.

My life story would be called 'The Girl with Her Head Stuck in a Book'!!

buttons

For some reason this looks cream, its actually a very light green.
The tag is from Shabby Chic - Debbi Moore, I glittered around the mannequin with chamelon glitter, you can just about see it in the photo and embellished with buttons and a bow.

I found a new author (to me) whilst buying a 2for in Tesco's. Trisha Ashley - Chocolate Shoes and wedding Blues. Couldn't put it down, really enjoyed it, and Trisha has made it into my Book of Books *da-dah*
Anyhoo, included was a lovely recipe for Fat Rascal's, a Yorkshire treat and now that I've made them - very addicitive! what little remainder of my waist I had looks like its on the way out. Must Wii more.

Salvaged two small plastic files from work and have decided to put my favourite recipes in them, laminated pages to keep them clean.
So I've made a start on the collection with the aforementioned Fat Rascals.

I bought the new Sherlock Holmes novel today - The House of Silk by Anthony Horowittz.

Mmmmm.

Haven't started it yet...........

UPDATE

Well I read it. And rather good it was too. (sighs of relief)
I nearly stopped reading it as in the beginning, I found  Watsons over 'explaining' Holmes behaviour slighty tiresome, obviously done by the author to introduce the new audience (new??? what do you mean Sherlock who????) to the nuances and foibles that is Sherlock Holmes.
And bless Watson, so on the wrong bus, as usual.
Would defintiely  read any future Sherlock books by Anthony Horowittz - here's hoping!
