Putting on the Green

Over on the Gecko Galz blog, the challenge for February is 'Putting on the Green'. Feel free to join in and have a play - there is only one rule, and that is you need to use at least ONE product from Gecko Galz Etsy but it can be one of the free products, stamps, collage images, or digital papers. The winner will receive a $25 Gecko Galz shopping spree!

First up is a digital project I did using 'Glass Slipper' from the 'Ever After' paper pack and an image from 'Gypsy Magic' design sheet. Quote from the web.

I used the paper as my background. I thought the gold swirls would work well with the image. I then imported the design sheet into my work space and cropped it down till I had the image I wanted to use. Altering the size I placed it in the right hand corner, then used the wine glass tool which in easy speak allows you to play with the transparency of  your selected item from different angles. once I was happy with how she faded into the background, I matched the colour of sentiment to the swirls.

For this card I used an image from 'She is so Lovely' design sheet.

Background paper Websters Pages "Petite Papers" collection
Lime paper from Websters " Best Friends" pack
Peel offs
Green Pearls
The Hobby House 'champagne' gems
bow

For this card I used an image from "Sweet little Cuties" design sheet.

Using an oval die I cut the image out and then cut the same size oval out of a piece of cream card and used this as a picture mount.
The green flower, gold embellishments, lace and snip art corner all came from Craft Box.

remembering summer

Using Hunkdory's Seaside kit (can't remember its proper title at the moment), I made this simple card, just layered up using the design elements and added a few pearls.

Never trusted these type of deckchairs as when I was little I sat on one and it broke.......could only happen to me!

Hot Beverage

On a roll with the Christmas cards, this the 3rd week... I promise I won't be counting up every week but its still a novelty *lol*

For some reason this looks a bit blurry.

topper/green paper/sentiment from Nigel Mays 'Craft into Christmas' Cool Yule cd
everything else from NitWit Collection "Cookin' Cookies"

Hobby House taupe gems.

Very easy card, printed off a design sheet with topper & embellishments on, didn't use any of the embellishments though, cut out, layered up, chose matching papers from NitWit paper pack and stuck down, voila - card!

four of a kind

A lovely card which I made for a Friendship swap over on DoCrafts incorporating Mrs A's challenge over at her Butterfly Challenge Blog - to use 4 of something which in this card is 4 butterflies.
Had to include a doily of course, but this tine I added a white paperclip to spice things up a bit *lol*

Debbi Moore papers
doily
diecut butterfly in pink
small die cut butterflies x 2
pearls

Sticking the butterfly to the clip was fiddly, but I did it......... till I went to put the card in the envelope, dropped it and the butterfly fell off. Superglue is my hero!!

circus!

This was a quick card to make, the image came from the web, I layered it onto some red mirror card to make a sturdy topper. The backing paper came from American Crafts 'Lovely Day' paper kit. I decoupaged the balls onto it - from another paper in the kit.

love conquers all

image from "Marie's Garden pt 2" design sheet
background paper "Steampowered" from Steampunk Paper kit

all from Gecko Galz

designed in CAP2

100% digital

From the design sheet, I cut out my chosen image, placed it onto a blank page and using a heart shaped digi punch, punched out the main bit of the image, I was just going to use that but then decided to use the 'off cut' as well and started layering the page up till I got the look I wanted. I altered the transparency of the background sheet to give it a faded look. Added a red square which I then placed behind the main heart to matt & layer a contrast, the shade of red was taken from the large rose so everything matched.
I tried to match the hand writing on the image as best I could and faded the words a little bit to make them look worn 7 faded into the paper.

I wanted to embellish it a little as it looked quite plain around the edges but couldn't find any embellishments I liked so I ended up matt & layering the image and reducing it in shape to fill the gap.
Another idea to fill the gap would be to write a sentiment or little poem to whoever the card was meant to be for.
If my printer was good, I would print it all as is, but if I do make this into an actual card I will just use the images as my ink tends to be a bit darker than the appearance on screen. And there would be a doily involved.  (*lol*)

Peace on Earth

I am in love with this pretty Angel topper, it is part of a decoupage sheet but I split them up. Teemed with the funky backing paper, I think its my favourite Christmas card this year.

Father's Day

Went to Elscar Heritage centre yesterday, had a lovely wander round the huge antique centre, and had a quick look in the craft shop - spotted a design pack which was perfect for 2 challenge cards.

This is for dad, I can remember us having a lawn mower like that one! Many many moons ago. And the jacket reminds me of Monty Don - only thing missing is Nigel.

you know you're getting old when you get asked which is YOUR Gardeners World presenter - rather than which was YOUR Doctor (Who).

horses of courses!

Over at cardz 4 guyz  the challenge this week celebrates the Chinese New Year, the year of the horse.
I wanted to do a vintage looking card, so popped over to the graphics fairy to see look through her amazing image library, eventually settling on this French thorobred horse (which is what the wording on the picture translates to), to keep the French theme I put bon anniversaire as the greeting
