As the world is in a state of turmoil and anguish with the pandemic causing havoc & heartbreak amongst us all, I thought I'd do something bright and cheerful for my sample, luckily I have a garden and am surrounded by countryside but not everyone is as lucky, so I did bright and beautiful. Not sure about the bottom flower....

I was given quite a lot of Decoupage sheets last year, and this image was one of them, although I only used the base image on this card.

Background card in red to match the car, square of an old map and a blank page from a novel, 3 candi and peel off sentiment used.

Does remind me of Bergerac's car though.

My Santa card is one for the kiddiewinks and big kids everywhere.

I was gifted a huge pack of decoupage sheets and this was just one of many Christmas ones in the bag.

This can be personalised as there are a couple of pieces of the penguin holding the card, which would be so special for any recipient.

The first partner swap of 2016 for Card Exchange UK over on Yahoo groups, we're a small, friendly group who swap cards each month with a delegated partner, we also do themed card swaps, atcs etc. The partner swap is obligatory but any others are optional. If you're interested pop over and join us!

This month I wanted to do something different and I haven't done decoupage for a while, so I grabbed my folder and had a look through, finally settling on this subtle scene of flowers with small village in the background.
Its being posted so I only did one level of decoupage.

butterfly

Whilst flicking through my favourite blogs, I came across a Butterfly challenge blog and I love to use butterflies in my cards etc, so this was going to be perfect for me to join in with, so this weeks theme was flowers (with a butterfly)

this is my entry:

After choosing which image I wanted to use, I resized it to fit my card and then chose my baking paper, I didn't want a strongly decorated one as I wanted the card to be quite simple. I picked number 4 and then colour matched it to the blue in the butterfly wings.

I printed two of the images and decoupaged the butterfly. 

Sentiment was produced in CAP2, with the colour matching the background of the topper.

Printed everything off, and assembled the card. Looks very simple and graceful.

home sweet home



 

Over at fripperies and butterflies, the theme of the month was to use this image

 

 

how ever you wanted to.

 

I resized it in CAP2, (about 4.5inch long and 4 inch wide)  then copied & pasted the image a couple of times and used the cut-out studio to make some bits to decoupage with, namely the roof and the bird, which saved on ink.

 

As I thought it was too pretty to mess with I decoupaged the bits then embellished it with some roses I bought in a sale from The Range. I did want to put a nice sentiment on, but couldn't find anything suitable so I just typed the sentiment over the print, till I find something I like.

 

I don't know if I want to have it as a cute little wall hanging or have it as a stand-up decoration. Not sure but I will post photo's of what it ends up as.

I've had this La Pashe flippin' decoupage footballer image for years, so when I saw the new challenge on the cardz4guyz blog. I thought I'd use the front half of it.

Hoppy birthday

Decided to do some decoupage, not done any for yonks. I find it soooo theraputic. Although with Min-Moo (our 8th month old kitty cat, real name Minnie) jumping on the desk I had to be careful with the blade. Else we would be whiskerless, not sure if that would be the card or the cat.

Went with a dark brown cardstock as I found that I had run out of white.... eeek! which ended up going well with the green papers and I also used recycled buttons. Totally green!
